I then started pulling up the floors in the front bedroom and ended up getting the whole room done. With the floor so rotten, it came up fairly easy. The joists and bearers are rotten and will all have to be replaced. I'm presuming the wall frame is going to be in a similar condition when I pull the plaster off. My Dad seems to be not worried at all about this - if he's not worried, then I'm not worried. A re-stumper is coming in the morning for a quote.
Thank you to Nix and Gaz for tonight donating a bunch of gear- very very appreciated.
I've now made it much easier to leave comments -so please do! Any old bot can spam comments now.
The laundry/ bathroom which is now asbestos free. The tap thing looks like Microsoft Word's Clippit!
Celebrating the last of the asbestos done.. also, I touched the window pane there and .. well it fell in the garden and smashed.
Clippit eyeballed the whole thing and offered to correct me.
I forgot to take the hose out of the Chinese Hakka Association/ neighbour's tap - so when I arrived this evening, they had thrown it back over the fence (sans the nozzle). OOPS! Need to do some damage control. Sorry neighbours. (They never seem to be there?)
A terrific visitor popped in tonight- Happy! aka Tom. My closest neighbour who has to walk past my place to get home. We agreed that Footscray is the place to be.
Hi Happy!!!! Looking forward to Summer.
The hallway and recycling bin. I went to the council yesterday and delivered my profound Statutory Declaration asking for a bin. I should have rolled it in to a scroll with red ribbon around it.
Hehe cool....!
ReplyDeleteAre you keeping the bathroom fittings for now or re-doing it all...?
This blog will help fire me up to redo my back bathroom. :)
Not keeping any bathroom fittings, no. There's really not much (anything?) that I'm keeping. Everything is soiled, broken or rotten!
DeleteI do hope if you do your bathroom you'll post photos on FB :)
Well done so far! I love the Microsoft Clippit, that's scary! I love reno blogs, so I've just signed up to follow yours!
ReplyDeleteBy the look of things you won't keep a single piece of the old construction if it goes as it's going so far...
ReplyDeleteBig hug!
Joanna & Alexis
