Bathroom Designs

What's happening?

  • Fretting over bathroom choices.
  • Plastering starting next Wednesday!!
  • Added new section to blog - "Progress Check Off List" - scroll down and have a look.
  • Updated Current Cam  which will finally look exciting after the plastering

I thought I'd finalised a bathroom plan the other day. In desperation to get the project moving, I got a builder to quote on doing the entire bathroom thinking I'd pay whatever it took. But the quote came back at $7000 just for the labour. Ah..... no...... will just keep doing it myself.
Where to position cupboards - there isn't much space so I have to be very smart. We're talking Swedish smart.

I am also trying to deliberate the colour scheme. I'd like to go for a black and white look...

Black tiles with white features. Apparently too edgy for future buyers.

What I would actually like. Maybe one day.

White tiles with black features. Boring, but "nice" ? ?????

  3. oh! you gotta ask Maiki his experience with black tiles.. basically everything shows up on them, because soap is white, dust is lighter, etc. It drives him nutso! I would say, do whatever you like, stuff that damning 'hard to sell on' bloody line, I mean, who are you living in there for?! yourself?! or the next bastards? ;)

    1. Yeah I think you're totally right actually. My Dad has been warning me of the same. What about cupboard doors in kitchens? Wish we could tag Maiki in to this convo!

It's more that if I ever sell I don't want to renovate ever again ahahah! But maybe I'll feel like it once the pain is over ;)

  4. Haven't checked in for a while. So much progress! I love the hall slots. We wanted to do similar but didn't in the end : )
Do take some time to read back and reflect on how much you've done. You will want to renovate again at some point I bet... it's addictive.
Agree with the others about black tiles on floor at least - white/light is so much easier to keep clean. Even better is speckeldy ones that hide a multitude of sins. ha ha ha

  5. Wow! Looking at all that progress, looks great! Can't wait to come visit soon (although it's most likely in 2015) ... looking forward to seeing more, and of course the result of all that hard work!

Miss you and hope all goes well! XX Elin

  6. Would love to see the integration of these templates; find out how it would be like because there are lots of merits in each of the three ( the first one, in particular, reminds me of the opening scene in Casino Royale ). The bottom line here, I guess, is innovation playing out together with accessibility. Simplify the layout; make it fulfill the room's function, without the ambiance overwhelming or disorienting the bathroom user. This is why one needs to get the most professional renovators to execute this.
