Not even a letterbox

Still chugging along. All walls are off (as high as I can reach) now except for one side of the hallway.  This wall contains a large hole which seemed to be a needle disposal bin previously. That was really nice of them to dispose of them safely - in a hole in a wall.

I can't get a parking permit until I get a bank statement sent to that address. I can't do this as the house is so devoid of basics, it doesn't even have a letterbox. Kate suggested I "do what they do in the country" for a letterbox - get an old microwave and paint a number on the front.

Every day when I arrive at the property, someone has left rubbish in the front garden, or put their rubbish in my bin, or my pet hate.. left their recycling in my bin when there is a recycling bin next to it!  I can't get the bin in the front door at the moment as there is a plank of wood blocking the way.

It has been decided to just use a generator to get the restumping done - so the guttering and barge boards are no longer urgent. It will feel weird to get my first tradie in - paying someone to do it for me! Just weird. Stay tuned as to when that is.

I have been trying to get the bath out - I dismantled everything around it but it still didn't budge -then I realised the plumbing is still attached at the base. Need to borrow a saw to cut off the drainpipe. Clippit and the sink is all attached via copper wiring so not sure how I'm supposed to get that off.

You can now see through in to the laundry and bathroom. That whole internal wall frame needs to come out too.

An xray of my lungs would reveal a capacity of approximately 30% dust - the masks help but don't block everything.

Looking from the bathroom to the front door.

Just that wall to go.  Not far to carry the laths out - nice and near the front door!

Does this look like a rubbish tip to you? (Yes.)

That cupboard was a bit of an effort to drag out the front. I filed rubble in it.... for fun.

Looking East of the property. There is a park at the end but it is currently fenced off as they're doing all sorts of works on the railway at the moment.

Looking out the front door. Byron Street is relatively ugly as it has no nature strip, trees etc. It also has 3 major works going on at the moment (I'm one of them!)

I would LOVE you to visit! It is a total OHS hazard for a toddler though - nails sticking out, wobbly planks etc. But we can just carry her carefully? I'll message you !

PS. "It's my unbilical cord. I taped it there... for fun"
