Step up in the world

There is now a step up in to my house instead of down.

The restumping is almost finished. They've had a few engineering issues to overcome - namely the house was raised so high (at my request) that it started leaning in to the neighbour's house. Consequently it has now shifted meaning my walk way down the side is narrower. :/  I suppose it is a good thing I can now maybe fit (just) in the gap on the other side if I need to.

I've been in close contact with electricians and plumbers planning out the next stage. I'm about to buy a ducted heating unit, and some ducting. For once there's some almost progress!

Watch yourself as you walk over the floor. No smart phoning please!

Some of the wall studs will have to be double braced in to the shiny new base plate due to rotting.

All they have to do now is pour the concrete- the stumps are hovering until this is done. The house is still resting on the air pressure things.

My now narrower gap means the wood that was used to board up the gap has fallen down - thus opening up my house freely to the public without any security. (there's no back door either) Come on in and help yourself to building tools.

They had to widen stump holes at the side the house was leaning and try to counter brace it. Or something.
