Early morning Googling

This morning I'm off to meet my labourer to start creating holes and building lintels for doors and windows. I've tried to watch some youtube videos, Google some diagrams and the verdict is: Still have no idea what I'm doing.
This is pretty important structural work.

 Oh well. Here goes....
