Inches away from plaster!

Things that have happened
  • New front door and frame
  • New back door
  • New side gate
  • Aircon preinstalled
  • Ceiling speaker system prewired
  • Partial insulation installed
  • Back side fence finished
  • Lots of other bits and pieces- electrical, patching, painting, weatherboarding

A friend Petey came over and asked me to cut up his credit card so we did it in style. Not the first time I've cut up his evil plastic! Next time I want to use the angle grinder.

NEW FRONT DOOR!!! Been waiting for this moment for a long time. I got a locksmith to come today so I now can actually close and lock the door, as opposed to it being half kicked in and padlocked. I will show you once it's all mounted, the lock is in and painted.

New side gate! No more bits of plywood tacked on. Now it has to be sanded, and painted.. it will look much better. This mainly means for now that I can bring my bins in!

About half an hour in to me insulating, the electrician said "you know insulating without a mask will make your lungs feel like they're on fire, been there before"  So I had to stop work to pop down to Bunnings to get some masks. I worked in to the evening to finish the back section of the house.

Aircon man arriving for the job - and a view of how much mess I need to clean up.

(foodblogfoodblog... Mexican chilli beans, tahini, poached eggs, fresh herbs.. great start to a day's reno.)
